Valve train problem .....

Hi guys, I when I started my car today I heard some weird clicking sound coming from the rockers.... So I shut the engine off immediately ...

Then I removed the valve cover and they're was 2 loose rockers .... witch is not normal because I'm using hydrolic lifters ....

What I'm thinking is that I have 2 lifters that are bottomed out.

What are you guys thinking ??

And the adjuster nuts still locked down?

Could be lifters or a (hope not) wiped cam lobe.

Reset the lash and roll the engine over by hand. If you can measure a good rocker with a dial indicator to check lift and then measure one of those in question. Also all of your adjusters should be close to the same.

It's not the cam !!!!

This afternoon I looked closer to my valvetrain to see if the problem was a bended pushrod... And I realized that my rocker arms were really loose on the rocker shaft...Witch is NOT normal ...

I'm really happy because my cam is surely intact !! and I don't have to change it !!

Now ... Should I put a brass sleeve in every rocker arm ....

OR buy a new rockerarm + shaft kit ???

What are the BEST rocker arm 1.5 available ??

Thanks a lot guys for the help, I appreciate a lot

Check pushrod clearance thru the head when you bolt on your next set of rockers. Make sure you can get a piece of standard writing paper to wrap around the pushrod and slide down the clearance hole with no issue. Rotate the engine over a couple cycles and check. I've had clearance issues that weren't apparent and bent pushrods and threw lifter out of the bores.

so long as you dont have a hard metal on a hard metal its fine. like ss rockers on a ss shaft. in that case having the rockers bushed would be a good idea. usually a soft metal on hard metal is ok....aluminum rockers on ss shaft.

I'm going to go with the harland sharp rockers kit....

I don't want to buy the hugues rocker .... because they have the same design as the cranecam one ....and I had problem with them...

I want to try something different /better ... I don't want this to happen again ...

I'll order it as soon as I received my answer from harland sharp...
I ask them if the kit S70025K would work well with my setup....

One more thing... I need to change all of my pushrods....
Theyre is one pushrod that the ball at the tip of the pushrod unstick from the tube....

And I don't want that to happen to the other pushrod ... That is why I'm going to change every pushrods....

I would like to know if there is better pushrod than these one on the market with the same lenght?

My old one:
Compcam
Chrysler V8 HE P.R. 273-360 hyd cam w/adj. rockers

Here is what I found:

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CCA-7692-16/
They are made of chromoly, and a little shorter than the one I had...

They are 7.342 and my old pushrod are 7.389...

Do you think that .047 could cause any problem ?

Thanks !

Get a set of Smith Brother's. Get a set with the correct longer length like you have.....and you won't have issues with the tips on them.
