Arm Drop Weekend
Heading to Cayuga for Rich Christensen's Arm Drop weekend. They fugure we'll have over 300+ cars so that'll be a good show since car counts have been so low. This should also give me a chance to see how my carb is going to work in much better air.Yesterday all the hot sticky humid air moved out and we have more comfortable air today and all weekend.Hope i can get the car into one of the choosen groups.A good friend of mine won last year in the mid 10 sec class with his Dart.
I'll see if i can get pics/vids.
See ya Sunday

Back from a fun weekend of Arm Drop. Sure was a expensive weekend for some racers. Lots of cars breaking parts this time,my only expense was i fried a starter and had to run into a country town and find a parts store.
1st pass the car ran a 11.27 as i had the carb to lean from the last time i was out.Put the jets that Jesse had in it and the car ran 11.02 @ 120. but driving up return road it started bucking and not running right.Threw my 750hp carb back on and ran 11.00 @ 120. then a 10.98 @ 120. with a better 60'.
Rich picked 100 cars to run for a split purse from the $10,000. 32 10 sec. cars,16 11 sec. cars,16 12 sec. cars,16 9 sec. cars, quick 8 and i forget what he was also running in there as well. My car was too quick for the 11's as they chose cars running 11.30 - 11.50 and too slow for the 10's as they ran 10.10 - 10.50. My friend Dave with the 440 Dart was picked in the 10 sec class but the car stalled and wouldn't restart.

Interesting...sounds like your engine likes the 750 better.

I met a guy at the track that has a chassis dyno and said he could help me out with a set up on the 950 and he comes recommended from a lot of racers at the track. It would take the guess work out of finding the "happy spot" on my 950. I want this carb to work.
At half throttle the engine would shake back around like a bad miss and the 750 was real smooth.Under wot the 950 felt fine just not right at low speeds. The dyno shop is called "Balancing Act" and all the S/SS guys up here use his services.
The air on the weekend was 70% humidity and 2500' DA temps were 75-80. My car just hates humidity

Heh, yeah, me too on the carb issue. Maybe you can figure your problem out and it will help me figure out why my fancy new carb didn't do anything good at the strip either.
