The only advantage IMO is the finished look. My personal choice is acrylic lacquer only because I don't prefer the "wet look paints" on the 60's and 70's cars. I have applied clear lacquer over the base coats on the last two cars just to provide depth and added protection. I've been using Trinity paints. Again my opinion only. 360 Sport
